About

Oil for the Lamp is a mentoring framework written down by the program's founder, from years of seeing people slip and climb back. This site and app put it into a form people can use.

A working demonstration

The app is a working demonstration, built at cost, of the kind of tools the same team can build for community programs: invitations instead of open sign-up, careful roles, safeguarding built in from the start, very little data, and apps for phones, Windows and the web from one code base.

The team behind it prefers to stay in the background. The work is credited to the program's founder.

How it was made

• Drawn from the founder's notes, answers and corrections (October 2026).
• No analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts.
• Available in English, Spanish, French and Haitian Creole. The non-English text is a draft translation until it has been reviewed.

Status

Available as a demonstration. Pilot invitations are made by coordinators only. Deployment of a pilot waits on leadership review.
